If said to ones self at least twice a day, or whenever one is faced with a fear, I believe that this could be a powerful motivator towards blasting that very fear away.
We all fear something at one point or another. Whether it is minor fear, or a phobia that happens to completely paralyze you.

'I breathe in strength, confidence and blue skies. My fears yield in the vibrant light of my being.' That sounds very much like the Litany Against Fear from Frank Herbert's Dune. I love it because it talks about overcoming fears, and as an OCD person this really helps me...

Since I started up with an Affirmations class through my College, they've come to help me a great deal. Even right now going through such a transition. That's what I hope to gain from this here. I hope that it helps even at least a few people. For that I'll be thankful.

Say it to yourself aloud, then repeat a few times to yourself. Write it down if it helps. Meditate over it if you are the type and use it as a mantra. Whatever works for you. ;D

I mean they're stupid bugs. How much can they REALLY hurt me?

I also like...
"I overcome my fears because I am bigger than them."
That resonates with me especially given my phobia.

'I breathe in strength, confidence and blue skies. My fears yield in the vibrant light of my being.' Source: Onyx Tigress I'm sorry-I have a really hard time with this sort of thing...I know it works for many-and God bless really...It just never seems to work for me...I can't wrap my head around the idea that just by repeating a pleasant saying suddenly all will be happiness and light-I'm not attacking anybody, nor anybody's beliefs...I just don't get it(prayer never worked for me either[no wonder I couldn't be this preacher-LOL])...

Affirmations don't work like that. Changing your outlook to one of a positive nature doesn't happen with just one affirmation, nor does it happen over night. However, if you do a daily log of your negative thoughts, what made you feel that way, and how you could have changed that thought into something positive, over time you start to take on a more positive outlook. If done on a regular basis, it works to program your mind from a negative way of thinking to a more positive one. Then when you do happen to have a negative though, the positive takes over much more quickly. Does that make sense?

Yes it makes perfect sense-it's just never worked for me-I tried keeping prayer journals, diarys, the whole thing...
